Law Does Not Protect Ignorance

Michigan Supreme Court, Lansing, MI
All rise please, this blog is now in session. If you are not familiar with this expression, then you absolutely need to read this blog, and if you are familiar with it, you will find many interesting legal related topics in this blog and you will learn new legal expressions and terms.

This is an educational blog intent to provide legal information in a simple way. First, it provides fundamental information about law for non-lawyers. In addition, it explains some steps to study law for international students coming to the US. It gives also some in-depth topics that interest international lawyers and scholars.

The civil procedure is one of the topics that will be covered in this blog. For example, what jurisdiction does the federal courts have over civil cases ? is any case movable to the federal court or not ?

Sleep well, drink a lot of water, and be prepared for a journey in the law field. Do not hesitate to comment, suggest or ask during the trip because your inquires will never be overruled.

  1. I'm smiling because this blog's mission excites me, wakes me up, and has me looking forward to what you will write next!

Please help me! I don't want to be ignorant and have something bad happen to me! Ha Ha. Actually, I am not too worried about that but I am curious about the tidbits I will learn from you and look forward to learning about what international students need to know about US law!

I would be interested in the top legal issues that most international students are concerned about. What are they? Why do they cause international students concern?

Thanks for your welcome! And I am working on drinking enough water and sleeping well!

  3. I am looking forward to reading this blog as for me, law is a fascinating topic.

A topic that was interesting to me was actually brought up by a student in our case class. He talked about how there is no control when someone steals your identity and then moves that money to another country. I thought it was an interesting point and wondered if lawyers are addressing it.

Another topic of personal interest for me is local laws and how to combat injustice. An interesting organization is the International Justice Mission. I love this organization as it fights slavery, trafficking and other issues in areas throughout the world. For me, I would love a way to combat child slavery in places like Haiti, where a person like me sees a child slave but has no legal recourse. What can I do to help?
